Setting Up WordPress with a 1 click install

Again, this depends on the 1 click system your host uses. In Micfo and any other system that uses Fantastico, click on the Fantastico icon (a big smiley) and then choose WordPress from the options on the side left. Click on “new installation” and follow the instructions. When asked to install in directory, if you want to install it in the root folder, just leave it empty or else choose a name (like blog or wordpress) (recommended, it’s a lot neater) for where you want it. It is a good idea to have a POP3 email already set up because it will ask this of you during the process. You’ll be asked to choose a login and a password

I’m not sure how reliable the DreamHost 1 click is because I haven’t tried it out but it is simple and can be found at Goodies/One-Click Installs.

You should get a confirmation email with your login/password sent to your email. Test it out by logging in! Go to your web address and click on login under “Meta” at the bottom of the right sidebar.

I do encourage you do try out the manual route though, it is really simple and you’ll get a more reliable install (apparently!).
