CutlineSexy sexy layout by Chris Pearson has been made WP2.1 friendly. What’s super cool is that Chris has also created a tutorial for totally random header images for the theme (be careful that you download the correct files for your version of WordPress - there are files for 2.1 and for legacy versions).
Akon » KinedaLoves it! Named after one of the Kineda’s favourite singers, Akon is gorgeous, very Web 2.0 with loads of white space and big bold titles. No mention of widgets though. Currently tested for WordPress 2.07 with 2.1 coming soon. Can’t wait.
Kineda had some lovely linkage on her site that’s worth checking out:

Counterjumper » Black Hole: A WordPress ThemeUber simplistic and monochromatic design with two columns and widget support. It’s different in its grey (not black) sparseness. It’s like a 60s dress had a love child with an early Mac desktop.
Gray Wolf is another clean professional looking template. It keeps getting sexier each time I go back to look at it. The headings and the subheadings are beautifully sold but rounded and balanced with just the right amount of white space.
headsetoptions.org » Nonzero Red “Widget” I love this one, its background stripes are very Web 2.0. It has a great clean and professional look about it. Much more professional than most free blog templates around. I wish more stuff like this was available. Both of the sidebars are Widget ready apparently.
There’s a new WordPress out… 2.1 and christened Ella in honour of the magnificent Ella Fitzgerald. I’ve had a quick look around it and it looks great.
My favourite changes:

A previous post outlined how to install Plugins that were already installed. Now I will show you how to install extra plugins. Our first plugin install is the Widget plugin. If your theme is “Widget ready” you will get an extra menu in presentation/widgets that allows you to drag and drop “widgets” to your sidebar. […]
I was poking around my site and I noticed that my “About blogmaking.net” page’s format had gone a little haywire. The right sidebar looked like it had completely disappeared. It hadn’t, completely anyway, it was way off on the bottom left side of the page, mostly off screen, I could just see the end of […]
Now that I’ve got quite a bit written and got rid of the defaults, I’m pretty okay with displaying my site to the rest of the world. However, because I set my blog up in a folder called “blog”, if you want to see my blog, you need to go to http://www.blogmaking.net/blog/. I’d like everyone […]
The basic steps to installing a theme are:
1. Find a theme. I’m going to go with this one for now: WP- Andreas01 1.3
2. Download the theme to your desktop. It will probably be a zip folder, if so unzip/unpack it.
3. Check for any read me text files or the theme’s homepage for any additional instructions. […]
